ROCK 'N ROLL clinic
This 3hr clinic will focus on tackling obstacles, rock gardens and roll downs, both in ascending and descending.
In this session you’ll recap body position, riding over small obstacles, riding over consecutive obstacles, front wheel lifts (3 different types- and understanding their applications), unweighting the rear wheel, ratcheting, line choice and body position. We also work on gear choice, timing and coordination and braking on steeper terrain. Some of these skills will be taught in a flat open area before taking them to the trails.
The focus of this clinic is to enable riders to build skills that will help them to ride rocky and steeper terrain on green and blue (non-gravity) trails. This is both in climbing and descending.
If you are:
-wanting to progress after completing a beginner skills program and consolidating your foundational skills
-a strong beginner/experienced novice/low intermediate rider and wanting to progress your riding more
-a seasoned rider who has been off the bike for a while
-a seasoned rider who has had a crash and lost some confidence. These are the clinics for you.
-someone who is fearful of rocks and/or corners!
Prerequisites: completed a Foundational Skills Series clinic or equivalent beginner/foundational mtb skills course. Moderate fitness- this course requires both skill development on an open grassy area as well as approximately 7km of riding on trail.
*Based at Stromlo Forest Park, Canberra
