Girls Ride Term Program

$396.00

This 8 week program is for girls aged 8-12 who are in primary school (years 3-6 in 2025) and want to learn the fundamental mountain bike skills to allow them to safely ride on fire trail and easy green single track mountain bike trails. Girls must be able to ride a bike in a straight line with the ability to steer, brake, change gears independently AND the desire to participate in the program.
(If your child cannot ride a bike at all, please check out Pedal Power ACT who run Learn to Ride programs).

This is suitable for girls who are new to mountain biking, or who have some experience mountain biking but are not yet confident riding on single track or covering distances of more than 5km on a ride. This is a skills based program and will be conducted both in an open area, with some riding on green single track and fire trails.

Girls who ride single track regularly may be more suited to our Girls Academy program.

Girls must bring their own mountain bike in good working order and the correct size for them.

When: Tuesdays 4:30-6:00pm Week 1-Week 5, Week 7-Week 9. Term 1 2025
Week 6- no ride
Week 10- alternative date if any rides are cancelled due to poor weather.

Cost: $396pp

In this program, girls will learn about body position, braking, using gears, riding downhill, riding uphill and basic cornering skills. There is a strong emphasis on safety, with girls supported to challenge themselves when they feel confident and ride within their limits.

This will take place in an open area, progressing from grippy surfaces to dirt as the progression of the group allows.
