Foundational Skill Series at Orange, NSW
This is our program for beginner riders and riders who want to learn the foundational skills for mountain biking!
We know what it’s like to feel nervous and intimidated on the trails! We’ve helped hundreds of women build confidence and skills to get them smiling out on the trails and we would love to help you too.
Our signature Foundational Skills Series consists of 2x face to face skills clinics, usually over a weekend (5hrs in total) on mostly green cross country mountain bike trails. This series teaches the foundational skills for mountain biking, which is perfect for beginners but also for anyone who has never done a skills clinic and wants to go back to the foundations and/or to build confidence.
Our clinics are fun, friendly and supportive, with a focus on keeping you safe and smiling. Our progressive coaching style means you gain confidence in each skill before moving onto another so you never feel out of your depth.
Our expertise in women’s mountain biking means you get good advice and tips that have been gathered from coaching and listening to the specific issues women face when it comes to mountain biking over the past 10 years.
You’ll learn about bike set-up, body position, gears and braking. You will learn how to safely mount and dismount and start/stop on varying terrain. You’ll also learn foundations of cornering, as well as skills for climbing and descending. By the end of the clinic you’ll be starting to tie all of these things together and hopefully be feeling much more confident and safe and enjoying the ride a whole lot more!

Hopefully not. But mountain biking is an inherently dangerous sport and there are many risks involved, including risk to yourself, to your property and to others.
We operate under a robust risk management process however riders do still crash. We provide first aid where required and will support you to assess what happened and keep riding if you wish to.Can I walk sections if I’m not comfortable?
Yes, absolutely. We will never make you ride something that you’re not comfortable riding. We may also encourage you to walk or take a break if you are struggling with something.
