Dirt Maidens Pride Ride
Sporting clubs are the heart and soul of a local community, but sadly, many LGBTIQ+ folk don’t feel welcome or safe in sport.
Dirt Maidens aims to provide a safe space for women, non-binary and gender diverse people. We have teamed up with Pride Cup, an organisation that supports clubs and leagues, from community to elite, to create more inclusive environments through education and iconic rainbow-themed game day activations.
The Dirt Maidens Pride Ride is a celebration of the diversity within our community. 80% of Australians have witnessed or experienced homophobia while participating in or watching sport. This event aims to showcase that mountain biking is for everyone, making it more welcoming for LGBTQIA+ riders. Together we hope to encourage more people to feel as though mountain biking is a place that they belong, and build a community that welcomes, respects and values the diversity that the LGBTIQ+ community brings.

What: A social, no drop guided ride on green mtb trails and fire trails. If you haven’t done any mountain biking, this is not a coaching course and it’s recommended that you jump on the fire trail cruise. You will need to have some basic off-road bike handling skills.
If you’re a beginner-intermediate rider and/or need some extra breaks, jump on the chill green ride.
If you’re up for a little bit more and fitness is not an issue (or you’re on an e-bike) then jump on the extra spice ride. All loops will aim to join together to finish the ride.
